The seam image is quickly focused by placing the seam slot against the precision focal stop.  When the operator presses the enter key, the video image dimensions are automatically measured and displayed by the SeamMate System.  The operator quickly confirms or edits the measurement.

The can seam is positioned by spring-loaded pins. The precision anvil and carbide probe tip are factory set at four degrees from the horizontal for sanitary cans, to match the chuck wall angle.  The can may be continuously rotated 360 degrees to identify seam bumps and save time.  This unique design delivers precise, repeatable seam thickness measurements.
